About Pitaya

We’re a cozy, community-focused coliving space rooted in the heart of Lanzarote. Our mission is to offer colivers a genuinely local and immersive experience, connecting them with the rhythms of island life, local traditions, and each other.

Our weekly calendar is full of moments designed to bring people together, from shared breakfasts and family dinners to island adventures and creative gatherings. We believe community grows through connection, and we want you to be part of that magic.

About the Position

Collaboration Duration:

1 July – 1 November 2025 (5 months)

  • 20 hours/week

  • 5 days/week

  • Alternating work weeks:

    • Week A: Monday to Wednesday + Saturday & Sunday

    • Week B: Monday to Friday

Scheduled Working Slots

  • Monday – Planning Session:
     1 hour from 18:45 to 19:45

  • Tuesday – Community Breakfast:
     2.5 hours between 08:00 and 12:00
     (Exact time is decided during the Monday planning session; usually starts between 09:00 and 10:00)

  • Wednesday – Family Dinner:
     1 hour from 20:00 to 21:00

  • Ad Hoc – Check-ins:
    Be available to welcome new guests upon arrival. You'll be the welcoming face for new arrivals.

    Check-in times are shared one week in advance to allow for easy planning within your weekly rhythm.

  • Flexible Tasks:
    Remaining hours can be arranged flexibly within general working hours (09:00–19:00). You'll co-create a timetable with Laura (founder) at the start of the collaboration. 

Collaboration Conditions

What is included:

  • Accommodation at the coliving - private room with a shared bathroom. 

  • Monthly Cash Allowance of 150€.

  • 5 yoga classes per week.

  • 1 hosted group breakfast per week.

  • 1 community family dinner per week.

  • Participation in all group activities - free of charge for those organised by Pitaya.

  • Wi-Fi, utilities, and cleaning included.

The host will enjoy the same conditions as any other coliver.

Your Role as Host

As Host, you’ll be the heart of the Pitaya experience, creating connections, holding space for community, and ensuring every coliver feels welcomed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Go-To Person: Be the warm, reliable presence that anchors our space, from facilitating events to supporting daily operations.

  • Event Maestro: Organize and facilitate weekly events. Keep the energy high and the vibe inclusive.

  • Guest Experience: Manage check-ins and check-outs to ensure smooth, friendly transitions.

  • Home Harmony: Keep shared spaces welcoming, tidy, and functional.

  • Content Creation: Capture the magic of Pitaya, manage stories, reels, and photo highlights to share our spirit online.

What We’re Looking For

  • Language Skills: Fluent English is a must + Basic Spanish is a very nice to have (to communicate with locals and our cleaning angel, Amelia).

  • Sociable & Responsible: You’ll be living and working closely with others. High emotional intelligence, good boundaries, and being a great housemate are essential.

  • Independent but Collaborative: You’ll work closely with Laura (owner) and Amelia (housekeeper). We’ll trust you with real responsibility and creative freedom.

  • Experience a Plus: Previous hospitality, hosting, or community management experience is ideal, but attitude, enthusiasm, and cultural fit matter even more.
